 Our founder, John Evans has been in the automobile industry since 1965. After four and a half years serving in the Navy, Mr. Evans starting selling vehicles at Key Buick in Jacksonville, FL. Then in 1968, Mr Evans became Sales Manager for Miller Terrell Buick in Baton Rouge, LA. In June of 1974 he moved to Hammond to start Community Motors. The dealership, "Community Motors" has been serving the Northshore Area since 1974. It moved from it's location on Hwy. 51 to our current location in 1989. Today, it is a Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep dealership. It has been a pleasure serving the people in this region of the country for over thirty years! 
The future of the company looks promising. It is a family owned business with Sam Evans serving as the General Manager. When the time comes for John Evans to retire, Sam wishes to continue serving the people on the Northshore for years to come. Community Motors has several long-time employees and is continually seeking ways to improve our service to our community. We desire to make your vehicle experiences such as buying, servicing, and driving pleasant experiences.
